Some Simple, Quick Ideas to Move It, Move It!

- If you use public transportation to travel to work, get off the bus or metro one or two stops early, and walk the remainder of the way.
- If possible, walk or cycle to work.
- When moving around your office building, or when out at meetings, whenever possible take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator.
- Instead of emailing or phoning a co-worker, get up and walk down the hall to discuss business.
- If you tend to have lunch at your desk, try walking to a nearby park to eat your lunch.
- Whenever possible, hold “walking meetings” around the office or around the block…taking notes on the go if necessary.
- Take frequent breaks throughout the day to walk around your desk, get a drink of water, or use the restroom…target a walk-about for five minutes every hour.
- Stand up and stretch periodically
