Introducing Dr. Jeffrey Jacoby – Spine Surgeon

Fox Valley Orthopedics is pleased to welcome Dr. Jeffrey Jacoby who will be joining our team in early 2019. Dr. Jacoby is a fellowship-trained orthopedic spine surgeon. Dr. Jacoby is a warm and caring provider who takes the time to get to know his patients and educate them on their condition as well as their treatment options.

“I view every patient as a unique individual and understand that treatment plans must be specifically tailored to each individual’s needs. Together, we discuss all the possible options for care, including nonsurgical and surgical options, so patients can make the best decision to fit their individual lifestyle,” states Dr. Jacoby.

Dr. Jacoby is not only a spine surgeon but also an army veteran who proudly served our country.

He chose orthopedics as a profession because he has seen how orthopedic care can make a profound difference in his patient’s life, particularly when it comes to pain relief.

“Spinal and neck pain can be life changing. It can make even simple day to day tasks feel overwhelming. It can cause people to miss out on the life they love and enjoy. My job is to guide patients safely through the process of healing to maximal recovery,” says Dr. Jacoby.

Dr. Jacoby is passionate about new innovations that have been developing in spine surgery in recent years. Three innovative surgeries that Dr. Jacoby takes great pride in offering include procedures in the neck, back and pelvis.

In the neck he performs disc arthroplasty (artificial disc replacement) which can be used in replacement of a fusion. This allows for better movement after surgery, and less risk for the breakdown of surrounding discs. It also lowers risk for future surgeries.

For eligible back surgeries Dr. Jacoby uses minimally invasive techniques which leverage making small incisions from the side instead of through the back. These minimally invasive techniques lower healing time, lessen bleeding, and get patients back to function sooner.

A same-day pelvis surgery used to treat sacroiliac joint (SIJ) pain can now replace months of physical therapy or chiropractic care and gets patients back to function sooner.

Dr. Jacoby is also a member of the North American Spine Society as well as the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
